The Daily Herald’s publisher will be leaving the newspaper April 3.
Keith Ponder told staff in Columbia last week of his impending departure.
The newspaper’s parent company, Gannett, restructured management last week, creating a more centralized organization that resulted in several leadership changes company-wide.
Editor James Bennett, Circulation Director Anthony Dezarn and Advertising Director Craig Duncan remain to lead their teams, as does information technology director Fay Hunt. Additionally, Vickie Woody was named by Gannett as site leader to coordinate local operations.
